I modeled this lower school lesson off of Carol McCloud's book "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?"

I found that a majority of my kids had read this book at home and were excited to hear me read it aloud in class.  I started my lesson with a read aloud and followed with three different activity stations:

Station 1: bucket filler worksheet

Station 2: mix and matching the bucket filler and bucket dipper cutouts

Station 3: using playdough to make your own bucket

Resources: I created different bucket fillers and dippers to laminate and use for my mix and match activity. The students had to use these captions to figure out what color bucket was the filler and which one was the dipper.

I used this website for my worksheet (they have many other interactive materials) http://bucketfillers101.com/free-resources.php
